Maintaining and managing any fishery takes time and dedication. Rainbow Lakes is sincerely dedicated to the management and constant improvement of our fishery.
Even before we open for the season, we are cleaning the lakes and preparing to stock fish. All trash and foreign materials are removed from the lakes, and all lakes are checked for water purity. Since most of the lakes here are fed from underground springs, it is relatively easy to maintain water purity.
Aerators located in the Rainbow lake help diffuse nitrogen from the bottom and clear up the lake. During the spring we also add grass carp in the lakes to control the weeds.
In the spring we start stocking each lake with what we believe to be fish suitable for each particular lake. For example, Rainbow lake is stocked with carp, shovels and spring trouts. Aerators in Rainbow lake, greatly improve the health of the fish.
